The GSD says it would seek to reverse aspects of the new residency rules it describes as agist, anti-British and anti-business.

The Opposition describes the policy as ill thought-out and without proper consultation, with grace and favour exemptions  from the Chief Minister adding uncertainty and extra costs.

GSD Executive Member Nick Cruz, says the best way to protect the Rock's British way of life and social services is to have an economy that allows businesses and individuals to contribute via tax and social insurance.

Ros Astengo asked Mr Cruz what evidence the GSD had to support its criticisms.
