Environment Minister discusses environmental commitments and Treaty provisions

Environment Minister John Cortes has discussed the environmental commitments contained in the UK-EU Treaty with senior Green Party figures at the party’s conference in Brighton.

Dr Cortes met former Green Party leader Baroness Bennett and former MEP Jean Lambert, with discussions covering the Treaty, climate change, nature and rewilding.

The meetings followed Dr Cortes’s visit to Brussels, where he discussed Gibraltar’s implementation of the Treaty’s environmental provisions with Members of the European Parliament, highlighting the construction of the new Sewage Treatment Plant.
