Incursion by Spanish Navy vessel off Detached Mole

There was an incursion by a Spanish Navy ship this afternoon.

The patrol vessel Furor entered British Gibraltar Territorial Waters off the Detached Mole.

In response to GBC questions, a Convent spokesperson confirmed the Royal Navy challenged the ship and escorted it out of Gibraltar waters.

They said, "The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office makes formal diplomatic representation to Spain where appropriate", adding, "Incursions are a violation of UK sovereignty, not a threat to it".
